The construction of tourist attractions has become an important manifestation local performance and the image destinations, as well means for governments to promote economic development. However, causal relationship between growth remains unclear. article’s main purpose is explore effect on growth. To do so, a difference-in-differences model employed based China’s city-level panel data from 2001 2019 involving 313 cities 5947 observations. results demonstrate that have significant positive Such causality only in east central regions. Highway density, urban disposable income per capita, share tertiary industry moderating effects. validity confirmed using various rigorous robustness tests.
